Problem
The challenge was to design a non-traditional museum invitation package that draws directly from Picasso’s visual language, using Guernica as the primary reference, while respectfully addressing the tragic historical context and emotional gravity of the artwork.
Solution
Since the horse was identified as the central visual element within the selected fragment, its form became the structural foundation of the packaging solution. This decision allowed the invitation to function not only as a practical object but also as a keepsake that viewers could retain long after the exhibition.
Project Overview
Translating the emotional and symbolic weight of a significant artwork into a cohesive invitation system. The final design communicates cultural relevance and exhibition exclusivity through intentional choices in form, materiality, and user interaction.
Role & Approach
A multidisciplinary project spanning visual identity, marketing strategy, technical drafting, and engineering. Led concept development for the packaging system, with a primary focus on functionality, opening mechanics, and user experience.
Process & Collaboration
Conducted user research to evaluate recipient engagement, iterating on structure to improve clarity and usability. Worked closely with engineers to develop precise dielines and construction schematics, dedicating extensive time to refining technical drawings for accurate execution.
Key Outcomes
Designed an invitation system that balances cultural depth with tactile experience
Strengthened cross-disciplinary communication and strategic thinking
Delivered a complex, well-engineered solution ready for production
